I’ve finally put in an order for an internal MCD drive for my MPC 2000XL on MPCSTUFF.com. I’ve had it now for almost 10 years and it still has the floppy drive installed, but for 10 years I’ve been using an external SCSI Zip 100 drive [yeah, I know SCSI]. I keeps it real, well I guess saving one beat on 5 floppies would really be keeping it real.
I’m glad I’m finally [after 10years] upgrading the last bit of this machine. This new addition will make me more productive in getting beats done bc it will be all one unit. If you own a MPC 2000XL or any of Akai’s drum machine, some good sites to check out are: MPC Forums.com, and MPC2000XL.com.
My friend Dj CRO [Mysteries Extinction] made this short but great mix a few years ago and put it out on one of those tiny cd’s. He never really sold any that I know of, but just put it together as a nice little [no pun] mix.
I haven’t heard from him for a long time now and figured I’d post his mix for people to check out. It runs a little over 21 minutes. Enjoy.
A good friend of mine Blame One has been paying dues for a long time. In his early years he went by the name of Paper Thin, but is now known as Blame One, and has worked with many well known hip-hop artists such as Aloe Blacc, Dj Exile, Kankick, and Main Flow to name a few. One of his earlier works was with a group called Mysteries Extinction. I have a handful of their tracks that I converted to mp3 from a cassette that I had of theirs and will post some of those tracks here soon.
Putting in all of his hard work and dedication has led him to finally be picked up by a record label called Soulspazm Records. Whose roster contains artists such as Grand Agent, Supastition, and Pumpkinhead.
Put your dancing shoes on because these guys will make you dance [I never dance unless I'm really drunk, which happens more times than I'd like to admit].
The Presets hail out of Sydney Australia and have been putting out music since 2003 starting with their Blow Up EP up until their recent release of Apocalypso.
With the weather getting warmer [as if it's not always warm in San Diego] I’ve started to round up the friends for weekend bbq’s. Carne asada tacos, adult beverages and good company.
Check out this nice 30min clip from the documentary titled “Beat Diggin”. It seems to have snippets from another documentary that I own called Deep Crates, so not too sure what is going on with that. This documentary features Mr. Walt, Diamond D, Evil D, Common Sense and more…
